Lathe

These are some general notes on using a metal lathe combined with specific notes for a Little Machine Shop (LMS) HiTorque 7550.

• Cross Slide

  • Each tick is 0.001” and turn is 0.050”; I think that this is applied to both sides, so affect on diameter is 2x.

  • Each tick is

Setting cutter height.

• After facing, if there is a projection the cutter is too low so turn the adjustment screw clockwise to raise it.
